Croydon grime MC Stormzy is attracting plenty of money to be this year’s Christmas No.1, according to bookmakers, after recently launching a campaign to reach the top-spot with his single ‘Shut Up’.

The 22-year old faces fierce competition with the likes of Justin Bieber, the Star Wars theme song, NHS Choir and recent X-Factor winner Louis Johnson among those vying for the lucrative position. However, with the support of his strong social media following Stormzy could pull off the fantastic rise up the charts – for which he is already at number three with iTunes.

His recent live performance at London’s O2 Arena, for heavyweight boxer Anthony Josha’s ring walk, has attracted significant interest. The video has been viewed nearly one-million times on his official Facebook page as the support continues to gather pace.

He is 6/1 with Betfair to be number one on Christmas Day, but is as short as 9/2 with fellow bookmakers Betway.

Favourite for this year’s title is Justin Bieber who is odds-on with the majority of outlets to cap off a memorable 2015 for the so-called Prince Of Pop.
