Sunday’s Football Betting Tips
Sunday could be ‘Super’ here are a six teams to put in your accumulator…
Tottenham
Spurs are back in Premier League action after Thursday night’s 3-0 Europa League defeat at Borussia Dortmund. They travel to the Villa Park to face an Aston Villa side who are still looking pretty doomed after last weeks 4-0 defeat at Manchester City. Spurs come into this game a week on from their 2-2 draw against North London rivals Arsenal and they will be looking to get back to winning ways after playing a weakened side in Dortmund, which saw Harry Kane, Erik Lamela and Moussa Dembele start on the bench. Spurs have the second-best away form in the Premier League whilst Villa are the worst home side in the division. Spurs will be looking to keep up the pace on leaders Leicester and they will have a bit too much for a poor Villa side. Spurs win.
Arsenal
Arsenal entertain Watford at home in the Emirates FA Cup Quarter Finals after beating Hull City 0-4 away from home on Tuesday night in their replay. Home comforts are becoming a formality in the FA cup for Arsenal and they haven’t lost an FA Cup game since losing 1-0 at Blackburn in 2013 and are facing a Watford side here who last beat Arsenal in their own backyard in 1988. Watford have struggled since the turn of the year, they’ve won just two games and have only scored four goals in that time. With the title now seemingly out of Arsenal’s reach they’ll want to at least retain the FA Cup. Arsenal home win.
Middlesbrough
Automatic promotion chasing Middlesbrough travel to London on Sunday to face a Charlton side who set an unwanted club record on Tuesday night having not won a home game in ten games. Drawing six and losing four has contributed to them having the worst home record in The Championship. Boro will want to put Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at struggling Rotherham behind them and try to keep up with in-form Burnley who have now opened a four-point gap on their promotion rivals. With Boro having the second best away record, and Charlton’s on-going poor home form, I fancy an away win here.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid are back in La Liga action and travel to 15th placed Las Palmas off the back of their 2-0 win over Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Madrid have the second best away record in La Liga, whilst their opponents have the 11th best home record. Top scorers in La Liga, Real have scored 51 more goals than their opponents and with Cristiano Ronaldo in good form I’m expecting them to add to their 81 tally this term. Madrid beat Palmas 3-1 at the Bernabeu earlier in the season and I see something similar materialising again this time round. Away win for Madrid.
Roma
Bang in form in Serie A, Roma travel to 16th placed Udinese looking to extend their winning run to eight games. In comparison, Udinese haven’t been doing so well recently, they’ve won just one game in ten which has seen them concede 19 and scored just five goals. Roma boast the third best away record in Serie A whilst their opponents have the third worst home record. With Roma bowing out of the Champions League this week, Serie A is the only competition they’re in so their concentration can remain on that. With both teams current form I have to side with another win for Roma here.
Borrusia Dortmund
Dortmund are back in Bundesliga action after their comfortable 3-0 win in the Europa League against Tottenham. Dortmund face a Mainz side who surprisingly beat league leaders Bayern Munich a few weeks back, but in their last game only managed a 0-0 draw with 15th placed Dramstadt. Coming into this, Dortmund are unbeaten in nine league games, a run stretching back to the middle of December. After Thursday nights dominant display against Tottenham which saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang score his twenty-seventh goal of the season and Marco Reus score an impressive double. Dortmund will be in good spirits and want to keep up the pace on leaders Bayern Munich. Dortmund home win.
